A newsletter has been released for the MAREWIND project, offering an insight into the first 12 months of work.
TWI has been working alongside 15 other consortium organisations from seven EU nations on the Horizon 2020-funded project, which is developing solutions for the next generation of large offshore wind power generation assets.
The project is also solving challenges related to coatings, materials and multi-material architectural performance, including:
- Enhancing corrosion protection systems and durability
- Effective and durable antifouling solutions (without the use of biocides)
- Erosion protection and mechanical reinforcement of wind turbine blades
- Predictive modelling and monitoring
- Increased recyclability
The project, which began on 1 December 2020, is due to complete on 31 November, 2024.
