As the ESA Technology Broker for the UK, TWI is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Prepare for Space’ initiative.
Designed to help companies to work with the space industry, Prepare for Space aims to leverage innovative technologies from sectors that share characteristics with the space sector. We will streamline the on-boarding process into ESA programmes through tailored training and support to help businesses better understand and respond to the opportunities offered by the space industry.
Prepare for Space will help those interested in entering the space industry to create strong proposals and business cases to speed up the contracting process, enhance technical viabilities, improve technical strength and create coherence with the programme.
We are now inviting applications from businesses that would like support to enter the space industry and tap into the many opportunities for growth that it offers.
The UK space industry outstripped both the global space sector and the wider UK economy with a reported growth of £18.9 billion in 2021/22, and a list of TWI business and technical support services have been created to help you maximise your potential and navigate the complexities of the space industry. These services include:
Business Support Services
- Market Analysis and Business Case Development
- Funding Guidance
- Networking opportunities
- Marketing as a Service
- IP Strategy
- Export Control Checks and Training
Technical Support Services

An open call for the ESA Prepare for Space programme in the UK has now been launched. Aimed at SMEs and larger entities, this initiative is typically for those who are new to the space market and wish to find out more about ESA’s funding opportunities.
