Our Industrial Members include original equipment manufacturers, contractors, fabricators, academia, suppliers, government, and research organisations. Industrial Member companies have access to our knowledge and state-of-the-art facilities that provide an extension to their own technical resources. Our services to Industrial Members include standards information, industry updates, research and offline and online information archives. 

Our Industrial Members include some of the biggest and best-known names from across industry.

Oil and Gas

TWI has over 50 years' experience of contributing to the safe, reliable and economic extraction, production, transportation and refining of hydrocarbons for the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry. We work with operators, contractors and the supply chain, utilising our expertise in structural integrity, materials selection, corrosion, non-destructive testing and joining technologies. 

 

BP

A British multinational oil and gas company, BP is engaged in all areas of the industry from exploration and production to refining, distribution and trading.

ExxonMobil

American oil and gas corporation, ExxonMobil is the largest of the world's oil and gas 'supermajors.'

Shell

One of the six oil and gas 'supermajors,' British-Dutch company Shell is one of the largest companies in the world, focusing on all areas of the oil and gas industry.

 

Aerospace

We provide technical advice and consultancy to the global aerospace industry - including airframe, engine and component manufacturers. Our expertise allows us to offer novel solutions in joining technologies for a broad range of aerospace materials and safety-critical applications.

Airbus

Airbus is the largest aeronautics and space company in Europe, focusing on the design, manufacture and delivery of aerospace products to a global market.

Boeing

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and a leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems.

 

Engineering and Fabrication 

TWI's work in engineering and fabrication seeks to support our Industrial Members to develop quality products at an affordable price, while responding to the demands of sustainability through life cost reduction.  Our Membership encompasses a range of sector organisations, from civil engineering consultants to construction and fabrication companies and large global organisations. 

 

Power

We work with utility companies, original equipment suppliers, research organisations, service companies, decommissioning agencies and regulators to ensure the continued, profitable operation of a variety of energy generation and electrical power distribution plants and assets. This has seen us provide Industrial Members with technological solutions, advice, consultancy and world-class research in the field of power generation.

 

General Electric

General Electric is an American multinational conglomerate that operates in a number of industries including power and renewable energy.

e.on

Founded as Powergen in 1989, E-On is now the world's largest investor-owned power and gas company with interests in the electricity and gas supply markets.

Scottish Power

Founded in 1990, Scottish Power supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses across the UK as well as providing power for supply to the grid.

 

Automotive 

Our work in the automotive sector includes support for vehicle manufacturers, component, assembly, and materials suppliers, including those working in Formula One. We help provide automotive solutions from concept through to delivery and recycling, to develop innovations that add functionality to products or services. 

 

Jaguar Land Rover

Bringing together two highly prestigious British car brands, Jaguar Land Rover continue to build their legacy with memorable vehicles and innovative technologies.

Honda

A global leader in automotive manufacture and innovation, Honda is the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines and motorcycles.

Yamaha

Established in 1955, Yamaha is one of the world's most recognised manufacturers of motorcycles with a focus on innovation, excitement, confidence, emotion and ties.

 

Electronics and Sensors

With over 40 years' experience supporting the development and testing of electronic devices and sensors, we help our Industrial Members produce cost-effective, reliable products and solutions through advising on materials and process selection, prototyping and production troubleshooting. 

 

Medical

Our support for the medical industry has seen us help our Industrial Members meet the challenge of manufacturing cost-effective products across a range of medical specialties. Our input includes materials and joining advice, design and prototyping assistance, and business planning and process support. 

 

Equipment Consumables and Materials

We support a wide range of equipment, consumables and materials suppliers on a worldwide basis, providing technical and strategic support, global networking and information on technology, industry trends, and opportunities to demonstrate product capability.
