Kylee joins EHLA Fellowship Team at TWI

Tue, 11 January, 2022

We would like to introduce Yingwei (Kylee) Wu, who recently joined as a new member of the EHLA UKRI Fellowship Team within the Laser Additive Manufacturing Section at TWI, where she will be working on extreme high-speed laser application technology.

Kylee obtained her PhD from the University of Oxford, with a focus on additive manufacturing (AM) of multi-materials/graded materials for manipulation of electromagnetic wave propagation through tailoring the materials properties in the printed device.

Before her PhD, Kylee obtained her BSc from Pennsylvania State University, United States, with a major in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. During her time in the United States she also gained work experience in the R&D centre at Kennametal Inc. and developed her expertise in AM of metal components.

Kylee is particularly interested in applications that utilise different AM technologies (e.g. laser sintering, direct energy deposition, binder jetting, fused deposition, stereo-lithography) and different materials (e.g. metal powder, composites, resin).

We would like to welcome Kylee to TWI.
