Representatives from the GeoSmart project were in attendance at The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency’s (CINEA), recent Geothermal Clustering Event.
Dr. Jon Blackburn, Damien Kirkpatrick and Dr. Namrata Kale, from collaborative project leaders TWI, attended the event, which took place during the European Geothermal Congress 2022 (EGC2022) in Berlin.
The workshop invited project representatives from a range of geothermal energy-related H2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives, offering a synergistic platform for them to share their challenges and learning.
As well as GeoSmart, the TWI representatives offered information on other TWI-led collaborative geothermal projects, GEOPRO, GEOHEX, and Geo-Drill.
All four projects, including GeoSmart, are aimed at providing innovative solutions to the different challenges in geothermal through collaboration with organisations across UK and Europe.
The event also included presentations from other geothermal energy projects including CRM-geothermal, CROWDTHERMAL, EASYGO-ITN, GECO, GEO4CIVHIC, GEOTHERM-FOR A, OPTIDRILL, GEOTHERMICA, ORCHYD and REFLECT.
