After recently developing a proprietary technique that enables the successful diffusion bonding of aluminium alloys, TWI held an interactive webinar to provide industry with more detail on the new capability and its potential applications.
Opening up a new manufacturing route for previously difficult or impossible to manufacture components, this new joining process has the ability to achieve joint strengths comparable to the parent material, producing an autogenous joint as no interlayers or melting point suppressants are used.
