TWI prides itself on being at the forefront of knowledge in welding and joining technologies.
The 13th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding takes place in Kyoto, Japan in 2020, a unique global forum that that provides the opportunity for professionals from around the world to share and develop scientific and technical knowledge on Friction Stir Welding (FSW), the event is spread over three days between the 26th and 28th May.
Call for Papers
Papers are now invited for the Symposium and are expected to describe new developments in science, technology, applications, industrialisation, performance, quality, design or any other topic relevant to the advancement of FSW. This can also include progress at an incremental level as well as more spectacular advances.
Those looking to attend must submit a minimum 300 word abstract by 31st October which will be presented by themselves in Kyoto. They should be relevant to the topic of advancement of FSW whilst clearly outlining background, objectives, methodology and results. These will be shown through case studies, research data, practical investigations and other methods of presenting results.
Each author may submit a maximum of 3 papers.
Reports on works in progress are also welcome, however, this must be indicated and communicated clearly. Special smaller presentation slots will be given if there is sufficient space. Should the full paper be accepted, it will be required by 17th April 2020.
Conference organisers are keen to hear about new and innovative ways of presenting, so those with ideas should contact Jonathan Martin.
Travel and visas will be assisted by the symposium organisers.
TWI is looking forward to receiving many papers and hope to see as many people as possible attend the event.
