Welcome to Welding Week 26

Mon, 06 July, 2026

We are pleased to announce the launch of our first Welding Week (#WeldingWeek26), created by TWI / The Welding Institute alongside engineering and manufacturing charity, Enginuity.

Running throughout this week (6-10 July, 2026), Welding Week 26 offers a platform for industry professionals, engineers, welders and others to celebrate the innovations, opportunities and importance of welding across industry.

TWI / The Welding Institute and Enginuity will be sharing case studies on our social feeds across the week, while it also ties in with The Welding, Joining and Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition (#WeldJoinExpo26) taking place at TWI Cambridge on 7 July, 2026.

Welding Week 26 has been created to inspire new talent by showcasing welding engineering as a dynamic, high-tech, and highly paid career path that is suitable for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Highlighting the range of diverse entry points, from academic to vocational, including apprenticeships, Welding Week 26 seeks to help address critical labour shortages in the profession and close the skills gap in welding.

Welding underpins much of modern society and Welding Week 26 will highlight this by showcasing the diverse and vital work that welders so, whether that is helping build and maintain critical infrastructure, creating cutting edge technologies for industries ranging from aerospace to renewable energy, and even lending itself to the worlds of art and sculpture.

By shining a light on specialisms and innovation across welding, we hope to be able to educate everyone from learners to parents and the general public on the evolving technical pathways and opportunities within the profession. This includes lesser-known specialist fields such as plastic welding, laser welding and robotic automation, allowing non-sector-specific audiences to see welding not simply as a traditional heavy industry, but as an innovative, high-tech and multifaceted field.

You can see more content related to Welding Week 26 on the TWI and Enginuity LinkedIn feeds and we look forward to engaging with you across the week!
