Members of the TWI Technology Team came together on 23 September at TWI’s headquarters near Cambridge, UK, for a dedicated leadership development and team-building day.
The programme was led by TWI’s Director of Technology, Malcolm Lee, alongside Sally Twisleton from Assemble Coaching and Associate Director of People and Culture, Elizabeth Andrews, with a focus on strengthening people leadership capability across the Technology Directorate.

At the heart of the day was a workshop exploring the leadership behaviours, shared accountability and collaboration needed to deliver TWI’s new five-year strategy. The session gave leaders time to align around a clear direction, develop a consistent leadership approach and consider how they can enable their teams to perform at their best.
By investing in leadership development, TWI is building the capability needed to respond to changing industry priorities, support its Industrial Members and translate original research and development into sustained impact. The day reinforced the importance of leaders creating clarity, empowering colleagues and working across organisational boundaries.
The programme concluded with a barbeque and bowls in the gardens of Abington Hall, giving colleagues an informal opportunity to strengthen relationships, build trust and connect beyond their day-to-day roles.
