There is still time to take advantage of discounted entry to The International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC), which is taking place at TWI Cambridge from 19-21 May 2026.
Early bird registration closes on 31 March, offering discounted entry to all three days for both TWI Members and non-Members.
About the IFWC
This year’s international event will bring together two symposiums for the first time, by combining the 14th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding and the 6th International Symposium on Linear Friction Welding. This will provide a broader range of friction joining and processing techniques for attendees to investigate across the three days.
Designed for researchers, engineers and industry professionals with an interest in friction welding, IFWC will continue to deliver the strong sense of community and technical depth that the International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding is known for while introducing sessions on a wider range of friction welding technologies—bringing together specialists from across the entire field.
The conference programme also includes a social event held at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, opportunities to attend technology demonstrations and take a tour of the facilities at our international headquarters.
With an inspiring collection of speakers drawn from across industry, academia, manufacturing, and technology research, IFWC has been designed to encourage meaningful cross-disciplinary exchange and connections with colleagues from both established and emerging areas.
