Dr Shiladitya Paul, Research and Product Development Programme Manager for GeoSmart consortium members, TWI, is due to present project findings at the upcoming AMPP Annual Conference and Expo in Denver, Colorado, USA.
The 5-day event is taking place from 19-23 March, 2023, featuring a programme of technical symposia, forums, workshops, student poster sessions, networking sessions, and more.
Dr Paul is presenting a paper titled, ‘Performance Of Thermal Spray Coatings In Phase Change Materials (PCMs) Used In Geothermal Plants’ during the ‘Thermal and Cold Spray Coatings’ session, which he is also chairing. You will be able to see the presentation on 22 March at 10:35 (local time) in Room 405 at the Colorado Convention Center during AMPP 2023.
The paper details findings on the use of thermal spray coatings for phase change materials (PCMs) at geothermal plants. PCMs offer a range of benefits for geothermal plants, including a high operating temperature, low vapour pressure and low levels of reactivity in air, which make them a potential solution to the challenge of the intermittent and unstable performance of geothermal power generation associated with current technologies.
