TWIIN Workshop to Promote European Technology Projects

Tue, 18 May, 2021

The TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) is running an online workshop offering UK and European businesses the opportunity to get involved in new EU-funded technology projects.

The workshop, which is taking place on 30 June 2021 (9-12:00 BST), is the first in a series of workshops concentrating on a range of topic areas related to the EU’s new €95.5 billion Horizon Europe programme.

With the aim of seeking mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities, the workshops will link cutting-edge innovation with commercial entrepreneurialism to meet business challenges and deliver long-term change.

Supporting our Industrial Members to meet strategic R&D ambitions, the outcomes will be to leverage our technical expertise and experience with a network of partners and specialist organisations.

Uniting the R&D ambitions of your company with the ideas being explored at TWI and the TWIIN Innovation Centres, while also meeting new partners from across Europe, will create new relationships and project partnership consortiums.

The workshops will cover topics related to the key industrial challenges the EU is seeking to address via new technology solutions, including digital transformation, the drive for net zero, health, the food and bio economies, and more.

Each workshop will include pitches to introduce new technology ideas and networking/ company organisation sessions, along with external speakers detailing industry challenges and the funding landscape.

The workshops will be led by our highly experienced Technology Innovation Management team (TIM), who have experience in all aspects of public funding – from identifying and addressing challenges and opportunities, to concept development and consortium building – through to proposal writing, financial management and project bid submission.  The team has been successful in helping to secure around 445 publicly-funded projects since 2008, with a value of around £513 million and involving over 1,000 individual partner organisations from across Europe.

This first workshop, on 30 June 2021, will focus on green transition and net-zero, including advanced technologies in green and clean manufacturing, and the move to clean energy and industry through renewables, hydrogen and carbon capture, and sequestration.

TIM Team Manager, Laurence Robinson explained, “Each individual workshop will be tailored to correspond to upcoming opportunities for public funding, which provide a robust route to collaboration through long-term research and innovation projects. The Horizon Europe programme provides an excellent framework to support TWI’s Industrial Members’ strategic research objectives, and forge new relationships with experts and technology developers from the TWI Innovation Network,” adding, “Therefore, I would urge anyone interested in utilising public funding to attend this event.”

Register for the event to secure your place.  This workshop is free to attend for TWI Industrial Members and TWI Innovation Network Platinum, Gold and Silver Subscribers. For non-Members and non-subscribers, there is a fee of £50 + VAT (£60).
