MAREWIND Project Website Launched

Tue, 09 March, 2021

A dedicated website has launched for the collaborative MAREWIND Project.

TWI is working alongside experts from seven different EU nations to help meet European Union climate targets by developing durable materials and recyclable solutions for the offshore wind sector.  This will not only extend the life of offshore wind assets but also create a range of new job opportunities.

The project aims to enhance corrosion protection systems and durability; create effective antifouling solutions without the use of biocides; deliver erosion protection and mechanical reinforcement for wind turbine blades; provide predictive modelling and monitoring; and offer increased recyclability.

The project is being coordinated by Lurederra Technology Centre (Spain) as the 16 partners in the consortium complete nine work packages covering the whole value chain of the offshore wind sector.

You can find out more about the project at the MAREWIND website here.

The MAREWIND project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 952960
