Paola De Bono, TWI’s lasers section manager, is set to present at an online event about the use of photonics for manufacture. Paola’s talk is titled, ‘Laser Welding at TWI – Contribution to Manufacturing within the e-Mobility Sector,’ and will provide details of battery welding for electric vehicles.
The event is taking place on Tuesday 29 September 2020 and investigate the use of photonics technologies for different sectors and applications. The event is one of a series of webinars being delivered by KTN in partnership with Hamamatsu Photonics and the Fraunhofer Centre for Applied Photonics. Bringing together speakers from industry and academia, the webinars will highlight the latest developments alongside an overview of the current landscape and funding opportunities in each area.
Photonics is a technology with applications in a wide variety of sectors. It is a key enabler for industrial challenges ranging from the digital economy to autonomous transport as well as offering healthcare solutions for rapid disease detection and enabling the advancement of Industry 4.0.
The event series is aimed at those researchers and companies who wish to develop photonics technologies as well as those end-users who want to solve challenges and produce innovative products and services.
