Welding Institute Awards: Enterprise Award

Tue, 08 October, 2019

Nominations are now being accepted for The Welding Institute’s 2020 awards.

Introduced in 2008, the Enterprise Award in memory of Bevan Braithwaite is made in recognition of the recipient’s enterprise for the benefit of welding and joining.

The award acknowledges the enthusiastic and passionate promotion of a vision and the strategic drive required to turn that vision into a successful reality.

The recipient should have shown persistence and determination to face challenges, while being innovative and resourceful in managing risks and persuading others to take advantage of the opportunities to start new organisations or revitalise existing ones.

Rewarding positive thinking and decision making, the award can be made in recognition of a range of different activities depending on the organisation and sphere of influence. These activities can include solo projects or major undertakings that provide benefits to welding and joining, including the development of new markets, discovery of new material sources, the mobilisation of capital resources, the introduction of new technologies, creating employment opportunities and the generation of economic growth.

You can find out more about the award and submit your nomination here.
