TWI to attend NIA’s Nuclear New Build Conference

Fri, 12 April, 2019

TWI’s Power Industry Sector Manager, Chris Punshon is set to attend the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) Nuclear New Build Conference.

The biennial conference is due to be held in London on 11-12 June, 2019, where a number of speakers from across the nuclear power industry will offer information and celebrate the progress made with new nuclear build projects in the UK.

There will also be a special focus on the international market, including how Brexit may affect the nuclear industry.

While there have been some setbacks for the industry, there have also been many triumphs for nuclear power with new technologies being realised and business opportunities opening up around the world.

TWI has a great deal of experience in the power industry sector, including assisting with the build of Hinckley Point C in Somerset with welding engineering and, in particular, supporting the supply chain with the alignment of the Afcen RCC-M Code with the equivalent UK codes and standards. This expertise allowed for any potential conflicts to be ironed out, while complex technical requirements were addressed with TWI’s assistance.

You can find out more about the upcoming NIA conference on the Nuclear New Build 2019 website.

TWI is now part of the UK small modular reactor consortium discover more here.
