AMable Project launches new call for additive manufacturing

Wed, 11 September, 2019

TWI is a consortium member of the EC-funded AMable Project, which aims to support the uptake of additive manufacturing among SMEs and mid-caps.

With the over-arching aim of using additive manufacturing for a range of innovative products while delivering skills to personnel, AMable have launched a new call for SMEs that want to experiment with additive manufacturing.

Hoping to turn ideas into reality, AMable is seeking challenging ideas with a clear business vision which can be supported via a series of hands-on development sessions.

The expertise of the AMable consortium, including TWI, will be available to participants in order to deliver ground-breaking products, from design through to manufacture throughout the European Union.

Supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the umbrella of I4MS (ICT for Manufacturing SMEs), the AMable Services Arena offers unbiased access to the best European AM knowledge and support.

AMable is now seeking proposals for functional products that can be supported by digital integration and tailored services including technological, business and training services.

The project will also offer financial support to help SMEs take up additive manufacturing with a focus on upskilling of employees in AM design, technology development, skills and education, while supporting business development.
