TWI at Visual Components’ AMRC Factory 2050 Open House Day

Thu, 08 October, 2026

Three TWI experts were invited to exhibit and present at the recent Open House for software developer, Visual Components, at the AMRC Factory 2050.

Senior and Lead Technicians, Nathaniel Swain and Frank Nolan, were joined by Senior Sector Manager Charlotte Tasker-Blake for a day exploring the applications and benefits of simulation and offline programming software.

Nathaniel and Frank hosted an exhibition stand showing a selection of industry-leading samples manufactured at TWI and enabled by offline programming technology.

These samples spanned many of TWI’s technologies, encompassing surface engineering, composite joining and laser processing, providing attendees an insight into the support available at TWI.

Charlotte rounded the day out with a presentation showing real-world case studies of components made at TWI using the software, including projects related to additive manufacturing for space, protective coatings for aerospace and radar-reduction coatings for windfarms.

Offline programming is enabling TWI to maximise the safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the technologies developed in-house on behalf of our Member companies, and it was an honour to be able to show an audience of manufacturers, researchers, and industry professionals how to make best use of these tools within their own workflows.

TWI would like to thank Visual Components for the invitation to speak, and we welcome any queries relating to offline programming or our materials and manufacturing expertise.
