We are pleased to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Inspection Technology and Quality Assurance National Institute (ITQAN) to advance welding and inspection training in Saudi Arabia.
ITQAN is an independent, not-for-profit training institute that was created from a partnership between Saudi Aramco (SA) and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in accordance with signed agreements, offering inspection training mainly to high school graduates to qualify them to work in the energy sector.
The partnership between TWI and ITQAN marks a significant step towards the development of training programmes and certification pathways in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as we deliver CSWIP-certified training programmes, ensuring that Saudi trainees and professionals gain access to internationally recognised qualifications. These training programmes will support localisation objectives, raise competency standards, and meet the needs of key sectors, including the oil and gas industry.
In addition to the training programmes, this initiative will see the launch of a series of technical seminars and industry engagement workshops across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, uniting experts, employers and aspiring inspectors to explore the challenges and latest innovations in welding technology.
Speaking on this new partnership, Interim Associate Director for TWI Training and Examinations, Stephen Wisniewski said, “TWI has a long history of working with organisations involved in the welding and joining of materials, and the associated inspection of those materials. Transferring technical knowledge and expertise through our training programmes is part of our mission. We are delighted to be working alongside ITQAN to strengthen their educational programmes and to assist in their strategic vision, helping to deliver the next generation of experts within welding and joining technology and to develop exciting career opportunities for the students of ITQAN.”
Tariq Alamer, Managing Director of the ITQAN Institute said, “Our partnership with TWI represents a major milestone in our mission to empower Saudi talent through globally recognised certification and training. By introducing CSWIP qualifications and TWI technical seminars to our offering, we are not only elevating the standard of welding and inspection training in the Kingdom, but also aligning with the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This collaboration will enable our trainees to access international expertise, enhance their professional mobility, and meet the evolving demands of industry with confidence and competence.”
We are proud to be able to help ITQAN establish Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for high-quality welding education and inspection excellence.
