Remote, Robotically-Enabled Learning (Webinar Recording)

Wed, 05 October, 2022

TWI held a webinar dedicated to the topic of enhancing workforce skills through the use of remotely accessed, robotically-enabled distance learning.

The webinar, ‘Pushing Forward - A New Path in Skills Development,’ took place on 5 October 2002 and had over 100 registrants with 50 people attending live on the day.

Describing an innovative, forward-thinking solution for learning, experimentation and validation, this online event detailed how remotely-accessed distance learning and training environments can be created using robots to connect to a range of different learning scenarios.

The benefit of this innovation is to allow personnel to remotely access physical facilities via telepresence and robotic manipulators regardless of where they are in the world. This would remove the need to travel to sites in order to access expensive training infrastructure as well as providing an expansion of remotely-operated robotic inspection technologies. Such remote operation means that personnel can safely undertake inspections in hazardous environments or where they are unable to attend a site in person.

You can see a recording of the webinar below and find out about this exciting new development for robotic systems:
