In addition to a substantial number of employees at TWI who have achieved NAFEMS certification as Professional Simulation Engineers (PSE), certification has now also been awarded to Longjie Wang with specialisation in Flaw Assessment and Fracture Mechanics.
Longjie is a project leader in the Numerical Modelling Optimisation section. Following his doctoral study with NSIRC and Brunel University, he joined TWI’s Asset and Fracture Management section in 2017 as a project leader, working on projects relevant to engineering critical assessment and fracture testing. In 2021, motivated by his strong interest in numerical modelling, he made a departmental switch to the Numerical Modelling Optimisation section. His current work involves numerical modelling of fracture mechanics, heat transfer, and manufacturing process simulations.
The PSE certification demonstrates the high standard of international competency that TWI can provide for modelling solutions. The independent, external certification also allows for structured continuous professional development.
This latest PSE certification demonstrates our continuous engagement and commitment to providing high-quality modelling for industries where quality assurance, product safety and structural integrity are the key drivers. We are delighted to be further rolling out the PSE certification scheme to modelling colleagues at TWI Southeast Asia later this year.
TWI has been increasingly providing advanced modelling support for micro-mechanics, design optimisation and additive manufacturing to industrial partners looking to introduce disruptive technologies into their workflows.
The NAFEMS PSE certification helps demonstrate the competence and capabilities of our staff in all of these areas and we would like to congratulate Longjie for his achievement.
