TWI Ltd has joined with Teesside University to provide funded innovation support for businesses in the Tees Valley region.
The Tees Valley Innovation Accelerator (TIA) has been created to offer fully funded support to SMEs in the Tees Valley area for the development of new products and services before taking them to market.
Ideally suited for businesses focused on innovation and product development, the TIA would allow companies to leverage public funding in order to maximise their potential for exploiting new technology concepts.
TWI’s Technology Innovation Management team, in conjunction with experts from TWI’s Industrial Membership base and Innovation Networks, will be able to offer support to help turn innovative ideas into products or solutions, working to deliver concepts to market, including providing advice and guidance from funding proposal writing right through to submitting a final bid. The support on offer will also include the potential to attract collaborative public funding as well as covering product prototyping, exploration of key technologies, manufacturing simulation, and more.
TWI’s Director of Innovation and Skills, Tat-Hean Gan said, “This new scheme offers a great opportunity for SMEs in the Tees Valley region to gain valuable knowledge on how to turn a technology concept into a tangible project, with the potential to secure public funding to create a new market ready product or solution.”
Tees Valley Innovation Accelerator (TIA) is funded by the European Regional Development Fund in the Northern Powerhouse region.
