Non-Destructive Testing Technology Transfer (NDT3) Project

Funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and managed by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), NDT3 provides free technical consultancy services for companies in Wales with respect to non-destructive testing and materials characterisation through our live Bridging for Innovators Regional Centre Wales (B4I RCW) initiative.

The TWI offer includes:

  • Up to seven days of free TWI assistance per company
  • Advice and guidance in NDT, inspection, quality, certification and more
  • Practical, direct support provided by experienced and qualified industrial specialists drawn from TWI’s team of experts

To be eligible, your business must:

  • Be UK-based – companies located in Wales will be prioritised
  • A small, medium or large business – SMEs will be prioritised
  • Be undertaking activities in the engineering and manufacturing sectors

Projects may include:

  • Removing bottlenecks from manufacturing or service processes
  • Overcoming intractable analytical problems that reduce the effectiveness of your business
  • Overcoming problems with new product/service development that will result in the commercialisation of said product/service

NDT3 cannot be used for the following:

  • Fundamental research
  • Early applied R&D activities
  • Market analysis
  • Testing and measurement services
