FSW Symposium - Call for Papers on FSW Variants

Mon, 30 September, 2019

Increasing research effort is being focused on how the unique characteristics of the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technique can be adapted from joining materials for other processing opportunities.

Recent reported activity include Friction Stir Channelling, Friction Stir Forming, Friction Stir Dovetailing, Friction Stir Shaping, Friction Surfacing, Friction Stir Additive and MELD to name but a few.

These variants have the potential to broaden design and manufacturing opportunities bringing technical and economic benefits to users.

13th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding: Call for papers

We strongly encourage all associated with these activities to share their experiences at the 13th International Symposium on FSW. When submitting your abstract please select ‘FSW Variant’.

Guidance on papers can be found on the Symposium website.

Authors will be expected to attend the event and present their papers themselves.

The deadline for abstracts is 31 October 2019. A decision about submissions will be fed back no later than 14 January 2020.
