As the weather in the UK turns colder for winter and the days shorten, colleagues at TWI Technology Centre Yorkshire came together for some healthy competition in the form of a baking competition.
The ‘bake-off’ event was organised by business support administrator Kira Brown, who wanted to help motivate others, uplift people’s spirits, continue building a positive workplace culture, and also provide an event that everyone could join in with.
There were a variety of baked goods to try before votes were cast in a ballot box to determine the winner…
The bake-off winner was senior technician Lee Dawson for his lemon drizzle cake, while second place went to senior administrator Nicola Priest who baked a pear cake, with joint third place going to senior engineers Emily Davison and Emma Woods as well as Kira, who between them baked chocolate and caramel cake, double chocolate brownie, and a raspberry and coconut cake.
This was a great initiative promoting good mental health, wellbeing, and team bonding – with the added bonus of being able to try some different cakes!
Thanks to everyone at TWI Yorkshire who helped organise the event and got baking to make it a success…
