TWI’s Research and Product Development Programme Manager, Dr Shiladitya Paul has been invited to be a reviewer for European Research Council (ERC) funding proposals.
The European Research Council (ERC) offers a range of funding opportunities for individual researchers to carry out projects with support from fellow researchers of any nationality acting as team members.
Because the ERC, which is part of the Horizon Europe programme, aims to fund ambitious proposals without predefined priorities, and focusing on scientific excellence and innovation, it is important that each proposal is considered ahead of being provided with funding.
The funding that is provided, including grants for frontier research projects, operates on a ‘bottom up’ basis, whereby researchers apply for funding based on their proposals and, as such, we are delighted that Shiladitya has been invited to participate in the decision-making.
This once-again highlights the trust with which our experts are held by industry and we are delighted to be able to play a role in the funding of important and innovative new research.
