TWI / The Welding Institute experts are in Salzburg, Austria for the 79th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference on Welding and Joining.
This event takes place in a different country each year, bringing together experts, researchers, and industry representatives for technical commission meetings and an international conference.
TWI’s Chief Technology Quality Assurance Officer, Paul Woollin, is attending as a member of the IIW Board of Directors, having been elected as Vice President of the IIW this month.
Other TWI experts are attending the assembly and conference to present to technical commissions dedicated to fracture avoidance, and pressure vessels, boilers and pipelines.
TWI Consultant, Yin Jin Janin is attending as a Delegate for ‘Commission X – Fracture Avoidance,’ where she is presenting on BS 7910 and the Plan for Future Revision.
Attending as an Expert for ‘Commission X – Fracture Avoidance’ is Senior Engineer Ali Bakir, who is presenting on Structural Integrity and Safety Assessment of WAAM AA5183 Aluminium Alloy in a Hydrogen Environment for Certification of Hydrogen Systems.
Meanwhile, TWI Welding Engineer, Andres Moreno is presenting on Polarity and Depth Effects on Underwater Wet Welding Performance using an Experimental Nickel-Based Tubular Wire at ‘Commission XI - Pressure Vessels, Boilers and Pipelines.’
