Mon, 09 March, 2026

Three experts from TWI are due to attend the AMPP Annual Conference and Expo 2026 in Houston, Texas, next week.

Taking place from 15-19 March, AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance) 2026 will bring together thousands of materials protection experts, industry leaders and innovators for learning and networking, including 600+ hours of technical content, groundbreaking research, and a dynamic exhibit hall.

It is the world’s largest gathering of corrosion and coatings professionals, offering unmatched opportunities to connect with peers, explore innovative technologies, and gain insights that shape the future of the industry.

TWI’s Principal Project Leader, Briony Holmes will present a paper, ‘Fabrication Issues Associated with Butt-Welded Branch Connections in Thick-Walled Superduplex Stainless Steel Piping,’ as well as attending standards committee meetings.

Technology Fellow, Mike Dodge will be at the event to discuss materials challenges in challenging environments with key clients and attending standards committee meetings during the conference.

TWI Research and Product Development Programme Manager, Shiladitya Paul, is due to chair the symposium, ‘Thermal and Cold Spray Processes and Applications in Corrosion Mitigation, as well as attending a committee meeting to discuss the technical contents of ‘AMPP TR21588 - Corrosion and Materials Selection guidance for Geothermal Applications.’ He will also be at a meeting of SC26, the Standards Committee looking at Carbon Capture, Alternative Fuels and Energy Storage, as well as presenting two papers, ‘Performance of Thermal Spray Coatings in Supercritical CO2” and ‘Aluminium Alloy Protective Coating for Structural Steels in Erythritol-Based Thermal Energy Storage (TES) System.’ In addition Shiladitya will deliver a talk on ‘Thermal and Cold Spray Coatings in Energy Transition.’

We are delighted that our experts have once again been invited to play a role in the AMPP Conference and Expo and we look forward to meeting others there.
