TWI photographer and videographer, Simon Condie celebrated 40 years of service on 15 September 2026.
Following two years of college and a further two years working elsewhere, Simon joined TWI in 1986. Upon joining, his main responsibilities involved working with still photography which, at the time, meant using wet processes and developing photographs shot on film.
As technology advanced so did Simon’s role as he adapted to changes at TWI, taking up more of the videographic work alongside his photographic duties, while the advent of digital photography changed how he worked, allowing him to check his images right away and address any problems with the shoot.
Over his four decades of service, Simon has produced a large array of images and video content ranging from dedicated technical images for projects to promotional material, interview footage with staff and customers, and many of the images that adorn the walls of TWI’s facilities around the world.
Speaking on his time at TWI, Simon was quick to praise the many colleagues he has befriended over the years, noting that he has been able to learn from them as experts in their respective fields.
As for his role and achieving 40 years of service, Simon explained, “TWI has so many interesting technologies and my role gives me the opportunity to see them all. These include a number of high energy, dramatic processes, which are always good – if not sometimes challenging – to photograph.”
We would like to thank Simon for his years of dedicated service to TWI and the contribution he has made across the business – congratulations!
