Leading the Future of Hydrogen Storage for Aerospace

Tue, 06 January, 2026

We are pleased to announce the successful production of a hydrogen storage tank demonstrator for the MASTER (Metallic Aerospace Structures Technologies for Eco-social Returns) project.

The project, which has seen us work closely with the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) aims to drive the future of sustainable aviation through the enabling of safe, lightweight and efficient hydrogen-powered flight.

Drawing upon our years of expertise in materials, joining, and hydrogen, our experts have been working to help develop advanced hydrogen storage solutions using friction stir welding (FSW) technology to produce high-strength, high-integrity joints for mission-critical critical aerospace structures.

We are proud to play a crucial role in the ATI’s MASTER project (Metallic Aerospace Structures Technologies for Eco-social Returns), a pioneering initiative shaping the next generation of sustainable aviation.

Our latest breakthroughs in fabrication and demonstrator development will be featured at the upcoming International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC), hosted at our Cambridge headquarters in May 2026.
