We are pleased to announce that TWI Research and Product Development Programme Manager, Dr Shiladitya Paul has been named among the world’s top 2% of scientists.
Shiladitya was named on the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List, a prestigious list that highlights the world’s leading scientists who have made a substantial impact in their respective fields through their citation influence.
Produced annually by Stanford University in collaboration with the publisher Elsevier, the list is drawn using information from Elsevier’s Scopus database and based upon the number of citations, co-authorship adjustments, and authorship positions, focusing on meaningful impact rather than just productivity.
Inclusion on the list provides global recognition for scientists who have been shown to advance knowledge and influence their scientific communities.
Shiladitya joined TWI in 2008, following the completion of his PhD in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge, UK. As an innovative technology specialist with experience of the industrial development and application of specialised materials, coatings and corrosion mitigation methods, he has published over 2100 papers and articles on the subjects of materials, coatings and corrosion.
He is a registered Chartered Engineer (CEng) in the UK, and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM), as well as being active in the scientific community as a peer reviewer and member of the editorial team for several journals. Shiladitya is also involved with a number of international, scientific and industrial committees, including holding the positions of Vice Chair of the European Federation of Corrosion (WP9), Chair of the 2023/24 symposium on Thermal and Cold Spray Coatings at AMPP Annual Conference, and a member, and judge, of the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology (JTST), Best Paper Award committee.
This latest recognition is further proof of the technical excellence provided by TWI experts such as Shiladitya.
