TWI Senior Project Leader, Dibakor Boruah is due to present at the Henry Royce Institute National Conference in Manchester, UK.
The biennial event is taking place on 3-4 September with the theme of ‘Unlocking UK Economic Growth Through Materials Innovation,’ examining how collaboration between industry and academia is revolutionising materials innovation and driving advancements across sectors.
Dibakor’s presentation will take place from 12:20-12:30 on 4 September, on the topic of, ‘Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing of Oxide Dispersion Strengthened (ODS) Alloys.’ The talk will focus on the cold spray additive manufacturing of ODS alloys for fusion applications.
The cold spray additive approach enables the production of fully dense, high-performance ODS components with enhanced mechanical properties, showcasing how traditional surface-based deposition techniques can be leveraged not only for coatings or repairs but also for the fabrication of near-net-shape structural materials for nuclear fusion applications.
The conference will bring together experts from industry, academia, government, and research funding councils to build on themes including Energy Solutions, Future Healthcare, Structural Innovations, Advanced Surface Technologies, Next-Generation Electronics and Sensors, and Consumer Products and Polymers.
There will also be an examination of cross sector topics such as Materials 4.0, Sustainability and the Circular Economy, Translation and Manufacturing, Skills Development, and Policy, Regulations, and Standards.
We are pleased that Dibakor has been selected to present at the conference, which once again shows the technical excellence and expertise available at TWI.
