Thank-You for Attending: TWI CRP Symposium 2025

Fri, 26 September, 2025

We would like to thank all of our Members who attended the TWI Core Research Programme (CRP) Annual Symposium 2025.

The event, which took place on 25 September at our headquarters near Cambridge, UK, provided a showcase of projects from our world-leading industrial research programme, along with opportunities to connect with TWI technical experts and fellow Industrial Members through interactive panel and networking sessions.

About the CRP

The Core Research Programme is comprised of projects that have been selected to address significant challenges related to technology areas highlighted as of crucial interest to the future operations of our Members.

These projects have a duration of 1-3 years, depending on the scope of the project, and is focused on engineering, materials or manufacturing technologies, with the aim of expanding on existing knowledge to develop new skills, products and services, systems and processes, leading to reduced costs, and improved quality, safety and reliability.

CRP Symposium 2025

This year’s CRP Symposium highlighted projects within three themes of importance to our Members:

  1. Inspection, Monitoring & End of Life
  2. Validating Reliability of Novel Manufacturing Techniques
  3. Structural Integrity for Safety & Sustainability

In addition, the day provided an insight into the TWI Technology Roadmap, elevator pitches, networking, an awards ceremony, and a showcase and tour of our laboratories, so Industrial Members could get a first-hand look at the facilities that are available to them. We were also pleased to welcome TWI Research Board Chair, Simon Webster, and BP Senior Corrosion and Materials Engineer, Dr Roberto Morana, who delivered the Symposium’s keynote speech.

Once again, thank-you to everyone who took time to attend the Symposium, and we will bring more details and highlights from the day soon…
