We are now accepting registrations for our upcoming Welding Institute Members’ Day on 10 June, 2025. This in-person event will take place from 9-15:30 at the TWI Technology Centre, Middlesbrough, with the theme of ‘Advancing Skills for Manufacturing and Inspection.’
The event will provide networking opportunities alongside a series of keynote presentations, a panel discussion around how The Welding Institute and partners can support education and upskilling in industry, and additional workshops, testimonials from users of the TWI Training’s Skills Boot Camp, STEM outreach, and a demonstration of welding with chocolate.
TWI staff due to present on the day include Director of Research, Paul Woollin CEng FWeldl, Interim Associate Director of Training and Examinations, Stephen Wisniewski CEng MWeldl, Consultant Welding Engineer, Joanna Nicholas, NDT Group Manager, Michelle Forster MWeldl, and Welding Inspection Programme Manager, David Bage AWeldl.
They will be joined by Jamie Cater, Senior Policy Manager (Employment) at Make UK, who will oversee a question and answer session on ‘Skills for an Industrial Strategy,’ Richard Humphreys, Managing Director of Norton Projects, who will deliver a session about ‘Advances in Subsea Inspection,’ and Don Atkinson EngTech TechWeldl, the President of The Welding Institute’s Teesside Branch, who will run a question and answer session about ‘Attracting and Developing the Welding Skills for the Future.’
In addition, attendees will have opportunities to view the TWI facilities at Middlesbrough, including our dive tank.
All Members are invited to join us for this free in-person event, but please note spaces are limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
