We are proud to announce that EUR ING Prof Darren Williams MEng EngD CEng FIET MWeldI — Professor at Lancaster University, Director of the Joining 4.0 Innovation Centre, and Team Manager at TWI Ltd — has been named, ‘Innovator of the Year – Advanced Manufacturing’ at the Fluxx Awards 2025.
Darren received this international honour at a prestigious ceremony held in Hong Kong on 5 June, 2025. The event brought together over 250 global leaders and visionaries from around 50 countries, with 600 global nominees across two editions. Ultimately, only 100 Business Elite Awards were presented, with 15 UK-based winners, including Darren.
The award recognises Darren’s decades of pioneering work in advanced manufacturing and innovation. Reflecting on the honour, he shared:
“Being nominated was already a tremendous honour—standing on that global stage among such inspiring talent was truly humbling. This recognition is a reflection of the incredible support, collaboration, and vision shared by everyone I’ve worked with. Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation—thank you to my teams, mentors, and community for continuously challenging and inspiring me.”
The evening featured a red carpet photo session, an artistic performance, opening remarks from host Jatin Kanojia, a powerful keynote from Dr Shawn Fair, and an engaging panel discussion. The celebrations concluded with a VIP gala attended by HRH Prince Ebrahim of Gambia, followed by an exclusive after-hours soirée.
