TWI Joint Industry Programme Manager, Sofia Sampethai and Group Research Officer, Nithin Jayasree had the opportunity to attend a 2024 parliamentary reception organised by Composites UK at the House of Commons in Westminster, London.
The pair were representing TWI under the umbrella of the Brunel Composites Centre at the event on 20 May, 2024, which was co-sponsored by Shadow Minister for Industry and Trade, Sarah Jones MP and the Rt Hon Margaret Beckett GBE MP.
The event highlighted the role being played by the composites industry in reaching the UK’s net zero targets and how it is influencing the development of the 2025-30 industrial strategy.
Nithin and Sofia were able to attend presentations from the Composites UK leadership team and network with many of their peers and colleagues from across the composites industry. It was an honour to be able to attend the event and meet with other professionals to reinforce the strength and potential of the composites industry community.
