TWI, working as part of the Materials Integrity Technology Transfer (MITT) programme provided support to Tees Valley SME, Titan Trailers Industries Limited who manufacture aluminium HGV waste trailers.
Titan Trailers sought TWI support in investigating new technical solutions that could reduce their energy consumption thereby reducing their carbon footprint.

Our experts critically appraise the Titan Trailers process route with respect to energy efficient and sort alternative manufacturing processes to improve the process flow through the factory.
TWI were able to show using cost benefit analysis that, by modifying their process flow, cost savings in excess of £500k per annum combined with increased product output could be expected.
Titan Trailers are very excited about the opportunity identified and are looking forward to working with TWI in the future to implement the changes and make these improvements a reality.
TWI will continue supporting Titan Trailers with these changes and are looking forward to seeing the benefits that these improvements will bring.
