With 2023 marking the centenary of The Welding Institute, we have been speaking with our Professional Members to get their insights into being Members of the Institute as well as finding out more about them and their careers in engineering.
We spoke with Amit Jain, a lead asset integrity engineer working at SABIC, KSA who also holds a Masters in Welding Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rajasthan University, India.
He joined The Welding Institute as a Professional Member in 2010 and has since gone on to become professionally registered as a TechWeldI.
Amit told us about his current job role and what a typical day at work entails as well as why he decided to choose a career in engineering.
He also spoke on his career highlights and challenges before giving us his thoughts on the benefits of being a Professional Member of The Welding Institute.
Amit also spoke on the importance of gaining his professional registration with The Welding Institute and how it helps him to not only prove his professional status but also assists with finding new roles in his career.
In addition, Amit revealed which membership benefits he has taken advantage of and his plans for his future career, before offering some advice for those following in his footsteps.
