TWI Section Manager, Jasmin Stein presented on the composites-related capabilities available at TWI during a ‘meet the member’ session for Composites UK on 13 July 2021.
We have been conducting research and development into composites materials for over 40 years, which has provided TWI with expertise covering all aspects of working with composites, including design, processing, joining, repair, NDT, failure analysis, added functionality, testing and recycling. This knowledge crosses different industry sectors and their specific requirements and applications.
The virtual event was free for members of Composites UK to attend and saw Jasmin deliver her presentation before she was joined by TWI’s Composites Consultant, Chris Worrall for a question and answer session with attendees.
Speaking on the event, Chris Worrall, who also presented TWI’s composites joining activities, said, “It was great to be involved in an interesting Q&A session and, despite running out of time, several potential opportunities will be pursued over the coming weeks.”
This recent meet the member event builds upon TWI’s outstanding relationship with Composites UK, which includes winning the 2018 Composites UK Industry Award for Innovation in Composites Design and authoring Composites UK’s Good Practice Guide for the joining of fibre reinforced polymer composites (FRPs).
