TWI and The Welding Institute work collaboratively every year to deliver Technical Group Meetings that address current Professional and Industrial Member needs and interests as well as those of industry overall. These events fit within eight Technical Groups:
What do Technical Group Meetings include?
Technical Group Meetings are events organised and delivered by The Welding Institute, which include industry expert speakers delivering presentations on topics aligning with the above Technical Groups. These presentations are varied but are carefully decided by a Technical Group Committee, with the involvement of both internal TWI and Welding Institute representatives, to encompass the current interests of Professional Members and industry overall. They are varied and focus primarily on recent industry practices, advancements, research and standards.
How will they work this year?
As many of you will already be aware, both TWI and The Welding Institute have moved all events online, including Technical Group Meetings, which formerly were conducted in person across The Welding Institute’s branches. The online webinar format is an excellent opportunity to attend and access technical industry information in a more convenient way.
Who should attend?
Technical Group events are open globally to anyone with an interest in the topics programmed. They are also a great opportunity to demonstrate your competence to others through gaining CPD points for attendance. Existing Professional Members of The Welding Institute and TWI Industrial Members are also able to access these events at a reduced fee.
What are the benefits of attending?
- Developing your personal knowledge
- Accessing up-to-date industry knowledge from expert speakers
- Technical Group Meetings are CPD qualifying events
- A live Q&A session with the speakers is held at the end
How can I attend a Technical Group Meeting?
TWI promotes these Technical Group events throughout the year on our events page and you can also find them directly on The Welding Institute’s events page here.
