Register for Free-to-Attend TWI Innovation Network Summit

Mon, 25 October, 2021

The registration for the TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) Summit 2021 is now open. The annual event, which takes place between 10-12:30 GMT on 16 November 2021, will act as a celebration of innovation – from its relevance to the global engineering community and the opportunities it provides to tackle industry challenges together, to the important contribution that R&D makes to the wellbeing of individuals, wider society and worldwide economies.

The Summit will include presentations from Kaplam, who produce plastic injection machines and parts for the automotive industry enabled by robotics, and Fraunhofer IKTS, who conduct applied research to develop systems for non-destructive testing and condition monitoring across a range of applications.

Huseyin Gonulkirmaz, R&D Manager at Kaplam and Uwe Lieske, Group Manager, Condition Monitoring Hardware and Software at Fraunhofer IKTS will each discuss examples of their work, together with how they collaborate with the TWI Innovation Network to enhance their innovation and operational activities.

In addition, TWI Regional Manager, Panos Chatzakos will use successful project examples to illustrate how TWI Hellas is currently collaborating with a large number of European partners on technology-based R&D in various industries. Emma Freckingham, Head of Company Certification, TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL) will explain how TWI CL can assist UK and European companies with certification to international standards. Dr Cem Selcuk, Head of Business Development for TWIIN will explain the services and assistance available through the Network, including the benefits of joining as a TWIIN Subscriber for SMEs, European universities, RTOs, and organisations further afield.

The morning will conclude with an interactive networking session for delegates and speakers.

From 1pm onwards, TWIIN Subscribers and Gold corporate sponsors of the TWI Innovation Network Summit will be able to take advantage of pre-booked, one-to-one Innovation Clinics with members of the TWI Technology Innovation Management team, who can offer tailored support on how to identify and access suitable public funding and consortium partners for R&D projects. Allocation of clinics will be organised on a first-come, first-served basis.

Speaking on the even, TWIIN’s Dr Cem Selcuk said, “We have a great Summit lined up this year which, given the challenges faced by companies and organisations worldwide since early 2019, will provide a unique forum for the international engineering community to come together and put the spotlight on collaborative innovation.”

He continued, “During the last couple of years TWIIN has continued to improve and extend its support to SMEs, mid-caps and larger enterprises, and I am looking forward to sharing some of the opportunities now available through the Network with delegates.”
