Call for Exhibitors and Speakers for UK Metals Expo 2022

Thu, 22 July, 2021

As a founding member of the UK Metals Council, TWI is pleased to announce that the first UK Metals Expo is due to take place in autumn 2022.

The event, which is endorsed by the associations that make up the UK Metals Council is set to take place at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, in September next year.

The event is seeking exhibitors and speakers as well as preparing interested parties to attend as visitors.

The UK metals industry is huge employer that supplies high quality, innovative and competitively priced products to a wide range of customers, and is due to become the principal supplier to the UK's main manufacturers and infrastructure projects, and a leading global exporter by 2030.

The UK Metals Expo will be the first time that the entire multi-billion pound industry will be brought together and represented under one roof, with the influence of the event being year-round with major initiatives, challenges and successes discussed and presented in detail in the show floor theatres. These theatres will include themes such as supply chains, innovation, skills, the circular economy, and resources.

The aim is for the event to deliver a yearly agenda driven by the new Governing Body chaired by Lord Rupert Redesdale and Chris McDonald, with the whole metals supply chain represented, from primary metal manufacture, supply chain management, processing metals, fabrication, surface coatings, and recycling, to leading vendors and trade attendees.

Speaking on the upcoming expo, UK Metals Council Chair Chris McDonald said, “Anyone with a career in the metals industry will want to attend, any organisations providing goods or services to this industry will want to be represented.”

The event is being organised in conjunction with partners who have experience of running hundreds of successful trade shows, with the organisers now seeking those who may have an interest in exhibiting.
