Tue, 18 February, 2020

TWI Principal Project Leader and non-destructive testing (NDT) expert, Shiva Majidnia, is due to speak at the Corrosion Detection and Control Seminar hosted by the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association (EEMUA) on 27 February 2020.

Shiva's talk, entitled 'Corrosion Detection Technologies: Current and Upcoming', will specifically focus on the challenges associated with detecting corrosion under insulation (CUI).

The seminar will also showcase a range of other talks covering:

  • Practical ways to detect and assess corrosion
  • Methods to control corrosion at different stages in the asset's life
  • The effectiveness of some mitigation techniques in extending the life of assets
  • Reducing risks
  • Controlling whole life costs

Shiva Majidnia- Principal Project Leader

Shiva is a Chartered Engineer who joined TWI's NDT section in 2012 as a PhD student. After the completion of her PhD, she became a project leader in 2015, subsequently managing a range of NDT projects, from research and development, to inspection deployment on-site.

Shiva’s technical area of expertise is primarily in electromagnetic inspection techniques such as eddy current, alternating current field measurement (ACFM), pulsed eddy current (PEC) and magnetic flux leakage (MFL).
