TWI’s advanced composites expert, Chris Worrall presented at a webinar organised by Composites UK on the Joining of Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRPs).
Earlier this year, Composites UK launched its ‘Good Practice Guide on the Joining of Fibre Reinforced Polymers,’ in collaboration with the TWI and the National Composites Centre.
Chris Worrall, the main author of the guide, gave a brief overview of joining methods for FRPs, as well as the reasons behind joining FRPs, the challenges, types of joints and fasteners, adhesive bonding, welding, surface preparation, NDT and standards.
