Emily Hutchison was recently appointed as the Section Manager for TWI’s Arc Processes and Welding team.
Emily graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Cambridge University before joining TWI in 2011. She began her TWI career working in the structural integrity group, where she worked with finite element analysis for five years ahead of a year of maternity leave.
Moving to the arc welding team, Emily worked on a variety of topics over the next two years, including pressure vessel design and fabrication, local heat treatment and distortion mitigation.
Emily became the Section Manager for Arc Processes and Welding towards the end of 2019.
Her appointment as Section Manager demonstrates how TWI invests in the careers of employees to offer development opportunities.
