Remote Access to Microscopy Services

Tue, 07 April, 2020

TWI continues to support Members with material analysis, mechanical testing and failure analysis. One existing facility that is now proving invaluable is the online access to microscopes.

Our microscope laboratory has long had an extensive display capability, with the option to display what is seen through the microscope on a large screen for groups of clients. The option to share this information via video chat platforms has been present for some time, and has been used in TWI’s interactions throughout the world.  This capability is still being operated from our laboratory in Cambridge, so that TWI engineers can then ‘see’ what microstructures are present from their homes. With suitable notice, this can also be shared with clients via video chat and shared screens, wherever you are based.

Members of TWI are invited to contact our engineers as they usually would. If you are unsure of who to contact or if you are a non-member, then please ‘contact us.’
