TWI’s Laser Additive Manufacturing section have welcomed a new Project Leader to their team, Charlotte Blake. Charlotte will be working with both laser powder bed fusion and laser metal deposition technologies, including the latest addition to TWI’s capabilities: EHLA.
During her PhD on ‘Additive Manufacturing for Cardiovascular Devices’ at University of Nottingham, Charlotte was researching the design, surface finish and biocompatibility of metal AM parts in the human heart.
Prior to her PhD, she studied Human Physiology at University of Liverpool, and so brings with her a wealth of biomedical sector knowledge.
Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys home baking and serves as a long-time St John Ambulance volunteer.
