TWI Technology and Training Centre North East is holding a free arc welding demo day on 28 November 2019.
The event will show how businesses can gain an increased benefit from arc welding technology, with welding experts on hand to provide support and advice.
There will be shop floor demonstrations of state-of-the-art arc welding systems from a number of original equipment manufacturers, including ESAB Group UK Ltd, EWM Hightec Welding UK Ltd, Fronius UK Ltd, ITW Welding Products, Lincoln Electric UK Ltd, OTC Daihen Europe GmbH, and TPS Weldtech Ltd.
There are also opportunities to arrange 15-minute one-to-one meetings with TWI experts to discuss matters including arc welding know-how and challenges, manufacturing and fabrication, robotics and process automation, welding control standards EN 1090 and ISO 3834, welding fume and EMF and Industrial Membership of TWI.
In addition, the arc welding demo day will include a keynote presentation on the new welding fume legislation and how it may impact your business. This presentation will be taken by TWI’s welding fume expert, Geoff Melton, who is also the Chairman of IIW Commission VIII, ‘Health, Safety and the Environment,’ and the chair of CENELEC TC26 on electric welding equipment. Geoff has been instrumental in a working group which led to the development of standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and the health effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) in welding.
The free demo day will also offer information on how local businesses can benefit from the Materials Integrity Transfer (MITT) project, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Tees Valley Combined Authority.
