TWI adhesives, composites and sealants expert, Sofia Sampethai gave a speech as a keynote speaker at the International Aeronautical and Aerospace Conference in Venice.
The conference took place 14-15 November with the aim of bringing together researchers, scientists, scholars and students to exchange and share knowledge and experiences with new ideas and research.
Sofia presented on the Innovate UK-funded Graphosite project as well as speaking on TWI’s expertise and capabilities.
The Graphosite project aims to develop a Graphene Sensor for defect detection and predictive maintenance in composite materials. The project, which began in August 2018, is due to run for 30 months and create a highly efficient, more convenient composite monitoring tool.
Sofia was supported in her presentation by Nithin Jayasree from the Brunel Composites Centre, which is a partner in the project.
