Bringing corrosion and materials experience to North America

Thu, 14 February, 2019

TWI will continue to support our Members in the US oil and gas sector when representatives fly out to NACE International’s event in Nashville, Tennessee in March. The annual event, which is taking place 25-28 March at the Music City Center, is the world’s largest corrosion conference and exposition, welcoming over 6,000 engineers, scientists, researchers, asset owners and professionals from around the world.

TWI will be on Stand 1510 during the exhibition and several key staff members will also be presenting papers at the conference that runs in tandem to the exhibition. Staff in attendance at NACE include TWI’s Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Programme Manager Caroline Young, TWI Technology Fellow and Surface Engineering expert Dave Harvey, Manager of TWI’s Stainless Steels and Non-Ferrous Alloys section Kasra Sotoudeh, Materials Research and Product Development Programme Manager Shiladitya Paul, Senior Project Leader Marie-Eleni Mitzithra, and Laboratory Manager Chris Miller.

However, NACE will not be the only TWI activity in North America during this time as we are also holding a workshop dedicated to Materials in Aggressive Environments on 2 April 2019 in Houston, Texas.

Taking place at the Houston Marriott Westchase, this Members-only event will include a series of short presentations and associated discussions with the goal of establishing requirements for TWI’s expertise, facilities and knowledge provision over the next 5 years.
